Pilates for the Holidays!

As the holiday season approaches, many of us find it challenging to maintain our Pilates and fitness routines amidst busy schedules. With family gatherings, holiday parties, and other festivities, it can be difficult to find time for a class, a private session, or even a walk. Here are a few suggestions to help you navigate through the holiday season.


  1. Take a Moment to Breathe


Find a quiet moment, perhaps in the morning before rising or during a football game, to focus on your breath. Close your eyes and observe your breathing pattern. Transition to breathing softly through your nose. Aim for a slow, steady rhythm with a five-second inhale and a five-second exhale. Spend five to ten minutes on this exercise, or even a minute or two if time is limited. This practice will help you reset amidst the holiday hustle and bustle.


  1. Engage in a Few Exercises


Time constraints during the holidays may prevent you from dedicating an hour to studio sessions or other workouts. Instead, allocate a few minutes for some exercises, perhaps while the meal is cooking or when the in-laws step out. Use a mat or a small piece of Pilates equipment for a brief workout to enhance circulation and realign your body.   1. Gift Health to a Loved One


Strengthening bonds with loved ones can take many forms, including exercising together. Invite family and friends to join you for a workout, visit a local Pilates studio, or provide them with equipment for home use.
