Sandra L. Munoz

Instructor

Sandra was born in Medellin, Colombia, and at the age of seven, she moved with her family to Paterson, New Jersey, in pursuit of the American dream. Shortly afterward, her family relocated to Miami, Florida, where she grew up and later raised her two daughters as a single mother. During her first pregnancy, Sandra developed a passion for a healthy, active lifestyle and fitness. She began with power walking, running, weight training, calisthenics, and Tae Bo kickboxing workouts in her living room. Fitness became essential to her, and always eager to explore alternative home workouts in the early 2000s, Sandra discovered Gaiam Pilates mat workouts. She immediately recognized the difference they made, identifying them as the missing link in her fitness routine, and developed a love for Pilates.

This passion led her to complete her first contemporary all-levels Pilates mat certification in 2009 in West Palm Beach, Florida, through the Pilates Institute of America. She began teaching Mat Pilates part-time at her local LA Fitness, offering private sessions and group mat classes from her backyard. Over the years, her enthusiasm, curiosity, and dedication to the Pilates method grew. In 2015, Sandra decided to advance her knowledge and career by completing a 600-hour Comprehensive Classical Pilates Instructor certification through Classical Pilates Education CPE in West Boca Raton, Florida, accredited by the Pilates Method Alliance. Since then, Sandra has been committed to learning and teaching Pilates to enhance the quality of life through breath and movement for individuals of all ages and abilities, aiming to continue this pursuit until retirement and beyond. With a solid career background in hotel and restaurant hospitality and management, she brings warm customer service skills, compassion, and confidence to her teaching. Sandra is deeply inspired by the Joseph Pilates classical system, which can be adapted from foundational mat exercises to all apparatuses. Among Joseph Pilates' many quotes, Sandra particularly appreciates: “Pilates is the complete coordination of body, mind, and spirit” and “You are as young as your spine is healthy.”

In 2017, Sandra expanded her teaching to include all Pilates apparatuses in Weston, FL, where she met her now-husband, whom she married the following year. Seeking to explore the mountains of Asheville, North Carolina, they relocated to the Blue Ridge Mountains. There, Sandra continued teaching Pilates and eventually opened her private home studio, which closed in 2024 due to Hurricane Helene. After the hurricane, Sandra and her husband returned to Florida, where they found their perfect home in beautiful St. Augustine, enjoying short drives to visit their adult children in central and south Florida.

In addition to teaching Pilates, Sandra enjoys cooking, homemaking, traveling, walking on the beach, reading, and leisurely mornings at home and visiting her daughters and family.

Sandra es instructora integral de Pilates. Habla español con fluidez y ofrece sesiones de entrenamiento tanto en español como en inglés.

Wendy Anderson

Instructor

Wendy Anderson began her fitness journey over 30 years ago, motivated by her personal goal to lose weight and improve her overall health. Although she led an active lifestyle, she faced ongoing challenges with her weight and found it difficult to adopt healthy habits that would support her goals. Becoming a fitness and Pilates instructor helped her build a positive relationship with her body. This experience allowed her to establish a consistent routine to effectively manage her weight and enhance her overall well-being. Wendy was featured in Shape Magazine and Muscle & Fitness Magazine during her time as a competitive athlete. She earned her associate's degree from the University of Florida.

As a comprehensive Pilates instructor, Wendy offers a wide range of services, including personalized one-on-one training sessions, engaging apparatus classes, and dynamic mat classes. Her dedication to her craft is evident in the many years she has spent studying with reputable organizations such as Pole Star Pilates and Power House Pilates, earning multiple certifications that attest to her expertise including AFAA Certification as a personal trainer further solidifying her qualifications. Her professional journey has taken her through various environments, including repitible institutions like Baptist Health, the YMCA, and various local studios. Through these experiences, she has discovered that her true passion lies in working with clients in smaller, more intimate studio settings. This setting allows her to provide the individualized attention and personalized training that larger corporations often struggle to offer.

Wendy’s life has been rich with unique experiences and adventures. She has a deep love for horses and spent significant time showing them in hunter/jumper competitions, where she honed her skills and developed a profound appreciation for the equestrian lifestyle. In addition to her love for animals, Wendy has also pursued a creative outlet as the lead singer in a band that once featured a member widely recognized in the music industry. Her earlier years were also marked by her passion for art, where she expressed herself creatively whenever time allowed.

Currently, Wendy finds joy in her life with her two beloved cats and her cherished grandchildren, who bring her immense happiness. Although she has a profound love for the beach and enjoys the tranquility it offers, she often struggles to find the time to visit, balancing her professional commitments and personal interests. Wendy's journey reflects her resilience, passion, and ongoing commitment to living a healthy, fulfilling life.

Jenna Mat Class.jpg

Jenna Potochick
Apprentice/Mat Instructor

Jenna Potochick began her Pilates journey nearly 20 years ago, starting with mat classes at a small gym in rural Tennessee, where she participated in group sessions. In 2020, she became a first-time mother to her son, Henry, and as a postpartum mom, she was looking for an effective workout that would suit her changed body. That’s when Pilates came to mind and became an integral part of her weekly routine.

She then discovered Reformer classes and Pivot Pilates. After trying a larger chain Pilates studio, Jenna realized that Pivot was truly special. Her passion for Pilates runs deep; it serves as a way of life that keeps her mind clear and balanced while providing a results-driven workout. She loves to see the fruits of her hard work.

Wanting others to experience this level of fulfillment in their workouts, Jenna decided to pursue certification as a Pilates instructor. She is currently certified through Balanced Body in both Mat and Reformer Pilates and is on her way to becoming a comprehensive instructor at Pivot Pilates.

With years of experience in medical and legal management/marketing, Jenna has worked as a Legal Administrator and Paralegal. Now a full-time mom, she has transitioned into the education sector, working at her son’s school. She is also continuing her education by pursuing a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education. Jenna enjoys incorporating Pilates into her classroom activities as a way to enhance movement and listening skills among her students. It's evident that she has the heart of a teacher, both in the classroom and in the studio!

JENA copy.jpg

Jena Wilford
Administrative Assistant

Jena Wilford has always been driven by a deep passion for uplifting her community. This commitment shines through her previous work in law enforcement, support for special needs, and as a military spouse. Whether testifying before State representatives, creating care kits for Ronald McDonald House families, or being present for special needs families in crisis, she continually seeks to enhance lives and inspire those around her. Before joining Pivot Pilates, Jena held a variety of positions, including Executive Assistant to CEO's, Service Coordinator for mechanical contractors, Paralegal, and roles in marketing, among other responsibilities. She holds a degree in Criminal Justice and was a Certified FDLE Law Enforcement Officer. She is also nearing the completion of her second degree in Sociology and plans to complete her master’s in social work.

For many years, Jena was a stay-at-home mom while her husband served active duty, raising five children and often hosting a foreign exchange student during the school year. Through her experience managing her children's medical challenges, Jena has developed a wealth of medical knowledge, never imagining that this wisdom would one day empower her to face her own health issues. With their youngest child now in college and three granddaughters to cherish, Jena and her husband, Damien, are joyfully embracing their journey as grandparents and celebrating the freedom of being "empty nesters."

In 2024, life as Jena knew it transformed significantly with the diagnosis of life-threatening medical conditions. Despite facing numerous hospitalizations and overcoming three pulmonary embolisms, Jena's resilience shines through. Now, equipped with a feeding tube and port to thrive amidst her challenges, she has stepped away from full-time employment and found a blessing in joining the Pivot Pilates team.

When Jena is not at the studio or in the hospital, she embraces life with her husband, delights in playing with her Maine Coon, Bella, enjoys serene walks on the beach, and finds joy in reading books. She has come to realize that true impact in the world arises not from grand gestures, but from the daily choices she makes: to show compassion to herself and others, even in moments of struggle; to give wholeheartedly to her loved ones; and to live fully and passionately while she has the opportunity.
