Spring marks a vibrant period of renewal and growth, a season that symbolizes the awakening of nature and the perfect opportunity for individuals to reassess their lives and prepare for new beginnings. This time of year invites us to embrace the chance to enhance our health, revisit activities that have previously brought us joy, and cultivate habits that contribute positively to our well-being. Personally, as a dedicated Pilates studio owner and instructor, I have come to realize that rising early to prioritize self-care not only nourishes my body and mind but also empowers me to support and uplift others effectively throughout the day. My morning routine is a carefully curated blend of activities, including Pilates, strength training, stretching, walking outdoors, and meditating on my PEMF (Pulsed Electromagnetic Field) mat. This routine sets a strong, invigorating foundation for the day ahead, allowing me to approach my responsibilities with energy and enthusiasm. Initiating such transformative changes in one’s life requires both motivation and discipline; however, it is essential to remember that you are indeed the catalyst for your own transformation. So, how can you implement these positive changes in your life, and what steps can you take to find the drive to succeed?
An old statistic from my time at Arizona State University comes to mind that highlights the journey toward fitness commitment. While working at the student gym, we learned that it could take an individual anywhere from six months to a year to fully commit to a consistent fitness routine. Once they took that crucial first step to visit a gym or a Pilates studio, there was an encouraging 60% success rate of maintaining that routine after a year. This statistic emphasizes that the real challenge lies not merely in the decision to change but in the courage it takes to step through the door and begin the journey. Each small step taken is a victory in itself, paving the way for lasting habits and a healthier lifestyle.
Change is often described as life's only constant, and at Pivot Pilates, we embrace change wholeheartedly and with open arms. We are currently in the exciting process of relocating to a new space right next door, which presents both thrilling opportunities and unique challenges. After nearly five years at our current location, we have created a special kind of magic with our clients and have cherished the warm charm of the space we’ve called home. However, the move to our new location necessitates hard work and dedication to prepare for both our existing clients and those who will join us in the future. Despite the challenges, we approach these changes with optimism, eagerly anticipating the growth and benefits that this transition will bring, not only for our studio but also for our beloved clients.
As you consider embarking on significant changes this spring, it is important to reflect on whether you can undertake this journey alone. The truth is, most people find that they need support along the way. The best way to effect meaningful change in your life is by sharing your goals with others and forming a supportive team around you. This community will hold you accountable, provide encouragement, and celebrate your achievements, no matter how small they may seem. Make your decision to change and act on it promptly; the sooner you take that first step, the closer you will get to your goals. At Pivot, we are ready and eager to be part of your support network, helping you stay accountable and fostering a positive environment for your transformation. Whether your focus is on Pilates or another aspect of health improvement, remember to center your efforts on positive change. Embrace setbacks with grace and maintain a growth mindset, viewing challenges as opportunities for learning and development.
We genuinely hope that your new changes lead to a healthier, happier, and better version of yourself. Feel free to reach out to us for more information on how we can assist you on this exciting journey toward transformation.
Wishing you a happy new you!
